INFO
This was a freelance commission from Stephen Kern of Henry/Kern Films. They had created their first movie and needed a logo and poster art. I had worked with Stephen before on his Of Ice: Wake Up project, and he really wanted my art specifically, in which I was grateful. This was my first movie cover, and therefore I had to attempt new things to capture the spirit of his outrageous slapstick comedy film. The logo and concept were a special kind of goofy, and I worked closely with him and his reference photos until he was 100% happy. The logo was created with Adobe Illustrator, and the cover art was created with Adobe Photoshop, organized on multiple layers, line art and colors kept separate, etc.
The movie was picked up for distribution by BayView Entertainment and was released on streaming on October 21, 2025. It is on Roku, Tubi, and Plex. The film features Kansas vocalist Ronnie Platt, 1994 Playboy Playmate Donna Perry, Eric Freeman, Brothers of Metal guitarist Mikael, and Tommy Stewart of Hallow's Eve.
The company felt my art needed to be censored, so instead of reaching out to ask me to erase the blood on Rowdy Bill's apron, which would take me only a few moments, they recreated my cover entirely with generative A.I. Their new cover plagiarized my concept of ChooChoo standing in a mountain of cheeseballs. If you watch the movie on Plex, my cover art is still on display. Stephen Kern still uses my art for his website and promotional materials.
Regardless, I am proud of my friend Stephen and friends on the film. Please support the movie and check it out.
