My early days in non-profit organization and teen magazine publication work.

INFO

Brick by Brick (Now Dream Out Loud Center for The Arts) is a non-profit organization in New Bedford, MA that gave me an opportunity to gain experience shortly before graduating high school in 2004.

This was my first professional setting as a graphic artist. I worked with them off and on over the years on several projects. I did various jobs here ranging from several teen magazine covers and interior layouts, album covers, posters, and even gave elementary and middle school aged children drawing lessons.

I stayed in touch as I got older and returned to help the organization on several occasions, even in my mid twenties, up until I enlisted in the United States Air Force at 24 in 2009, and returned to instruct shortly after I was medically retired in 2011. However, I decided to return to GA to assist my mother with my older brother who has profound autism. I also needed time to readjust to civilian life.

Sadly, a lot of this work has not stood the 15-20 year test of time. Thankfully I still have this magazine cover, where I show my use of typography, photography, Adobe Photoshop editing and layout. This is where I began to understand many Adobe programs and Quark, but longed to further my understanding.
